The ribbon cutting ceremony saw representatives from the various organizations meeting the student benefactors of their donations. The substantial high-tech gifts will enhance learning for the challenged students and provide a much-needed tool for establishing their independence. The Civitan Club of Oakville (Bob McCannell, John Mockford, Alistair McKenzie, George Horhota), Halton Learning Foundation (Dane Tutton), Community Foundation of Oakville (Jim Fraser), and the DeMaio family were officially recognized for their overall contribution of $10,000 with a plaque. Jennifer Gunion, who was at the helm as WOSS Futures staff became the Technology-for-All Team (Christina Annis, Ryan Luyk and Lori-Jo Prescott) and headed into the community to fundraise for better technology for their students, paid tribute to the team's efforts, as well as The Oakville Beaver and Living Editor Angela Blackburn, also recognized with a commemorative plaque, for giving the Futures program a voice that was heard by the Oakville community.
