Fewtrell has worked for the organization, which serves children with disabilities in Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville and the surrounding areas, since the late 1990s. She takes over for retiring president and CEO Linda Rothney. "This is great news for the children we care for and their families," Rothney said. "They could not be in better hands." Fewtrell began as a consultant for the organization and in 1999 was appointed coordinator of continuous quality improvement. In that role she provided strategic support and oversaw the implementation of three major new programs serving children and families across the central west region of Ontario. In 2005 she was promoted to senior vice-president and COO. "Bridget is an exceptional leader, uniquely and perfectly suited to lead ErinoakKids," said Scott Bonikowsky, chairman of the board of directors of ErinoakKids. "Bridget is a leader who embodies integrity, maturity, authenticity and generosity of spirit." ErinoakKids, founded in 1971 as the Credit Valley Association for Handicapped Children, is one of 20 children's treatment centres in Ontario. It provides medical assessment, therapy and support services for children with a wide range of physical disabilities. Bellan to speak at Company of Women dinner, trade show Susan Bellan, the founder of Breaking Bread for Women, will be the guest speaker at the April 15 Company of Women dinner at the Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre. Bellan formed her volunteer organization, which raises money through informal potluck dinners, in 2002. The fundraising dinners have raised close to $800,000 to support the salaries of Afghan teachers. Bellan is also the author of Small Business and the Big Banks: The small business owner's book about dealing with banks in good times -- and bad. She is also a frequent guest on CBC Radio's Metro Morning and wellknown spokesperson for the small business community. She has owned her own store, Timbuktu, since 1979. Company of Women is an organization that supports, connects and promotes women in business.
