A grant of $19,853 has been earmarked for the Oakville-based Home Suite Hope Shared Living Corporation. The cash will be used to support the purchase and renovation of a sixunit apartment building that will provide transitional housing. "This grant will play a valuable role in helping to significantly increase the number of units for families in crisis in Oakville," said Regional Chair Gary Carr. "The funding also represents the Region's commitment to meeting the priorities of its Comprehensive Housing Strategy, including a goal to create housing that helps families transition back into the community in a way that is integrated within the community," said Carr. Founded in 2004, Home Suite Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating innovative, affordable housing solutions and a network of community support for people who are homeless or in a housing crisis. "We thank the Region for this grant," said Wendy Perkins, executive director of Home Suite Hope.
