Interested members of the public, local business community and agencies are encouraged to attend this Public Information Meeting (PIM) which is being held to seek public comment and input on the project. Information pertaining to the proposed design will be on display and members of the project team will be on hand to discuss any issues/concerns you may have. Hatch Mott MacDonald has been retained by the Town to undertake the detailed design work for this project. The subject road improvement has been identified in Oakville's 2007 Transportation Master Plan which establishes transportation infrastructure improvements to the year 2021. It is proposed to reconstruct the existing road to a two-lane urban roadway with bike lanes inclusive of the following: · Traffic calming in the vicinity of Oakville Christian School, · New traffic signals at the intersection of Third line and Hixon Street, · Roadway alignment , stormwater system and related improvements The project will follow the planning and design process for Schedule A+ (pre-approved with public notification) projects as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, 2007 document. The Town of Oakville, through their consultant McCormick Rankin Corporation, is in the process of finalizing the detailed design for the Lakeshore Road West improvements between Burloak Drive and Great Lakes Boulevard. The proposed improvements reflect the preferred design alternative as identified in the Class Environmental Assessment Study completed earlier this year to reconstruct Lakeshore Road from the existing two-lane rural, to a three lane urban cross-section inclusive of center turn lanes, median treatments, on-road bike lanes and improvements to off-street trails and sidewalks.
