www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday June 11, 2008 - 27 F O R F AT H E R ' S D AY The Stout Monk celebrates two great years! Celebrating its 2nd Anniversary, The Stout Monk has reason to want to give back. Enjoying another year of success, this high-end pub has proven itself a favourite in the Glen Abbey/River Oaks area. Serving Oakville and surrounding communities, says owners Kevin McDermott and Rick Przybylski, "We want to take this opportunity to say thank you to our customers." The management team at The Stout Monk believes there is no better way to appreciate than to reciprocate. As avid golfers, "Every year we host our Spring Charity Golf Classic at Glen Abbey to support a charity of choice," says Kevin. "This year we raised in excess of $10,000 in aid of the Ian Anderson House." Ontario's first in-resident Cancer Hospice, the Ian Anderson House relies solely on the generosity of the community-at-large and fund-raisers. As last year, the 2008 event was not only a monitorial achievement, but provided a full day of enjoyment for all. Stout Monk customers were responsible for most of the 92 players, which speaks volumes of their loyalty to the restaurant. Sold out, the ticket entitled one to a game of golf at the home of the Canadian Open, Oakville's prestigious Glen Abbey golf course. Following, participants revisited The Stout Monk to be greeted with appetizers and cocktails galore, after which they sat down to a hearty steak dinner. Having already received a welcoming gift, the `Original Stout Monk Golf Shirt', there were an abundance of prizes to be won after the meal...making it a chock-filled day of fun for a great cause. "We'd like to thank our many corporate sponsors, incredible staff and generous customers for their kind support," says Kevin. And on behalf of Oakville and the Ian Anderson House, we thank you, the Stout Monk team, for creating a win win event for all! See you in 2009... GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!
