On Saturday, June 13, from 8 a.m.- noon, the Town will be hosting a rain barrel sale at the Town of Oakville Central Operations Works Yard (1140 South Service Road West, between Third and Fourth Line). The first 400 Oakville residents can purchase a rain barrel for the discounted price of $35. If you are not one of the first 400 Oakville residents, but are a resident of Halton, you can still purchase a rain barrel for $45. Please note that purchases are limited to one rain barrel and one discount coupon per household/per purchase and are sold on a firstcome, first-served basis. Proof of residency is required. Cash is the only accepted method of payment. Based on the response to sales in other parts of Halton, it is expected to be a popular event, and staff ask that customers please be courteous and patient. The barrels will collect water from your downspout, allowing you to store rain water that can be used to water your pots and gardens. Plants respond well to rainwater because it's naturally soft and devoid of minerals.
