Program introduces kids to choir The Oakville Children's Choir (OCC) is offering a preparatory music program for kids ages five and six. Running from September to May, it is designed to introduce children to choral singing. Through the use of songs, games and instruments, auditioned children will have fun while gaining fundamental skills in music. Rehearsals will be held once per week and children will have the opportunity to participate in The Oakville Children's Choir concert series. The program is designed for those children who like to sing, but are not yet ready for the Cherub choir. It is intended to encourage their interest in music and singing, and encourage them to continue as an OCC chorister. Other benefits of choir participation for young children include self-discipline, performance skills, teamwork, creative expression and friendships.
