Letter to the editor 7 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, August 14, 2009 `Huge mistake' to dismiss Dan Ferrone Re: Dan Ferrone terminated from the Y, Oakville Beaver, Aug. 5, 2009 After this front page article I was very disturbed about this huge mistake that Oakville YMCA has made. I am very aware of the many personal contributions that Dan Ferrone and his wife Barb have made to the Oakville and Halton communities. Dan's personal and professional successes and experience in many fields are exceptional. Dan is an outstanding leader -- much admired and relied upon by his fellow citizens. Dan was chosen from 100 applicants. He has owned and managed successful businesses. The major dedication in his life is to give back to and help his community, which he does with great enthusiasm and ability. Dan's athletic achievements are in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and in athletic records. He is a team player. I'm puzzled. Dan would prove to be a fine CEO and president for Oakville YMCA. He is the perfect "fit".
