Jakubowski, driving his Porsche Cayman S, qualified second but grabbed the lead from pole sitter Peter Cunningham off the stand- ing start. Cunningham would regain the lead on the 14th lap and Jakubowski would lose one more position when he slid wide in a turn on a restart on lap 24, allowing Nick Esayian to pass him. Jakubowski finished 27 seconds behind Cunningham and 16 behind Esayian. Non-contact rec hockey registration The Halton Mens Non-Contact Recreational Hockey League is currently reg- istering for the 2010-2011 fall/winter season. Entering its 28th season, the league operates in a house league format, taking individual or small group entries only. Games are played in prime time on choices of Sunday mornings, Sunday, Monday or Wednesday evenings. The league provides divisions of play for 20+, 30+,40+ and 47+ age groups. Mountain Volleyball Club has tryout dates for female volleyball athletes ages 13U to 17U. Tryout dates and times for teams will be post- ed on the MVC website at mountainvolley- ball.net. The first of four tryouts for female athletes interested in playing 16U (1995) will begin on Saturday, August 28, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Marys CSS in Hamilton. The tryouts for the 14U (1997) and 13U (1998+) team will begin on Sunday, Aug. 29, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Tryouts will be held at St. Marys CSS on 200 Whitney Avenue, Hamilton, L8S 2G7.
