TransCanada did not have a pipeline failure in Texas in 2008. During construction of the Halton Hills Generating Station there was a fatal- ity that occurred on a neighbouring prop- erty. This accident was unrelated to our facility. Regrettably, during construction of the Portlands Energy Centre a third-party contractor died due to proper safety proto- col not being followed. Accidents impact the individuals and families involved and the employees that work diligently to keep our facilities safe. Lessons need to be learned throughout the entire industry to avoid future unfor- tunate events such as these.
