The Rangers defeated the Barrie Colts 5- 2 in the gold-medal game, Oakvilles second win over the tournament host. The Rangers defeated Barrie 4-3 in round-robin play, where they added a 5-0 win over the Hamilton Cyclones and a 2-2 tie against Owen Sound. The Rangers whipped the St. Thomas Jr. Stars 7-2 in the semifinals. Goalies Kieran Drover and Christian Sbaraglia combined to allow only nine goals during the tournament. Offensively, the Rangers were led by Anthony Tabak (seven goals), Curtis Blakely (four goals, four assists), John Franco-Ionno (two goals, four assists), Cooper Elliott (four goals, one assist) and Jack Morris (three goals, one assist). Jodh Dhillon, Curtis Goddard and Alexandre Moreau also found the net. Robbie Gauthier, Tristan Kerec, Ryne Thacker and Ryan Eadie each recorded two assists during the tournament. Irish wins Oakville final in Alliston The Oakville minor bantam select Fighting Irish won its division at the third annual Bradford Bulldogs Weekend Hockey Tournament earlier this month in Alliston. The Irish defeated its hometown rivals, the Rebels, 1-0 in an all-Oakville final. Robbie Folino notched the Irish marker as the team avenged a 2-1 loss to the Rebels in round-robin play. In the Irishs other games, the team doubled up the Barrie Red Wings 4-2 and downed Erindale 5-3. Daniel Rasquin scored twice and Philip Reinders and Brandon Wood added singles in the victo- ry over Barrie, with Rasquin (two), Morgan McCready, Wood and Folino notching markers against Erindale. Folino had the Irishs lone goal in the loss to the Rebels. Other members of the Fighting Irish are Matthew Cromie, Evan Scott, Brad Currier, Matthew Reesor, Tyler McCluskey, Charles Sparling, Nathan Gillingham, Logan Townsend, Kanen MacLellan, Matthew Kozdras and George Jeffrey.
