Ms. Les' Grade four class from St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School have submitted stories from the perspective of those who were at the Nativity Scene. Students chose from the many different people that were in attendance including Mary, Joseph, the Angel, the Wisemen, Shepherd as well as the donkey. We also asked the grade 1 students from Ms. Sas' class at St. Dominic Catholic Elementary School to submit creative Christmas pictures. We received so many wonderful submissions and all have been published exactly as they were submitted to us. These stories and pictures are a great way to get in the holiday spirit and understand just what Christmas means to the children of Oakville. Enjoy! Alex Al exa E h Shepherd Ethan Sh h d The Shepherd was feeding the sheep. Then he saw a bright star. So he brought his sheep to the stable for the Baby Jesus' present. It was a long way to Bethlehem. Then baby Jesus was born. I was happy because I was the baby in the manger. Baby Jesus was our new King. James P Wise Man We walked across the desert and finally saw the star. I know I had to follow the star because it felt like magic. We walked for hours and days. We saw Bethlehem. We found the manger and saw Jesus in it. We go in the stable to see Jesus and gave him frankincense, gold and myrrh. When it was over, we had to wait until the King was dead because he did not want Jesus to be born. Then Jesus was our new King. I was so happy he was our new King. The best part was Jesus was born so we went back home and we all rode on donkeys. Sean S Joseph That was a hard day at work. I dreamed about an angel talking to me. You will have a baby with Mary and he will be born in a stable. So Mary got on the donkey and we went to Bethlehem. We found a stable with hay in it. It was too much money for a house. We made the bed out of hay and wood planks. Then the wise men came and gave my son frankincense, gold and myrrh. Then all the animals looked at the baby and smiled. I gave the baby to Mary. he wanted to marry her. But I, the Angel, went into his dream and told him to marry Mary and that I will help him. Then Mary and Joseph left to go to Joseph's home town of Bethlehem where Jesus was born. So I went to some shepherds and said "I bring you good tidings of great joy!" I told them to follow a shining star to Bethlehem. After the Wise Men brought their gifts to the new king, us Angels sang beautiful songs for Jesus because it was a very special day. Our king was born and everybody who wet to see Jesus celebrated! look at Jesus. Then we prayed and parted ways. It was a night to remember. Aidan G Wiseman Once night I saw a huge star. I knew that the son of God would be born, so my friends and I went to follow the star. It was a long journey across the desert to get to Bethlehem. When we got to Bethlehem, all of us were excited to search for the place where Jesus was born. Finally we found the stable and asked the innkeeper if we could watch the birth of our king. The stable was full of animals. We then saw a little baby lying in a manger. After, we saw Mary and Joseph the parents of our King. We gave three valuable gifts Myrrh which is an oil, Gold which is a mineral, and Frankincense which is a spice. All of us went to bed and when we were asleep we had a dream that King Herod wanted to kill us, so when we went home we took a different route. Teresa N Angel One day God told me to go to Mary and tell her that she was going to have a baby named Jesus. I found Mary in her garden and I told her that she was going to have a baby named Jesus. Mary was going to marry a carpenter named Joseph, but when he heard that Mary was going to have a baby he didn't know if f Jamie B Donkey I traveled for hours. My whole body hurts, but I will not give up to reach my destination. I walked for days, but there was no sign of shelter. Later on I found an inn. Unfortunately there was no room. A kind generous man came up and he said sorry there isn't any room but there is a stable. So I finally got to our destination. Once Mary had the baby she named him Jesus. Once baby Jesus was laying in the manager I got up. His eyes stared at me with thanks. I did all of that so I can see him shine. Nicole L Mary I am Mary. I knew that I was going to have a baby named Jesus. I knew my baby was named Jesus. I know my baby was going to be a king. So, we moved to Bethlehem because king Herod told us that we have to be counted. It was a very long ride, but at last we got there. I was so happy. We were looking for a hotel, but there wasn't any hotel. The hotels were all full with many people. But there was a stable. So, my baby Jesus was born in the stable. Liam C Shepherd It was a normal night. Yet I knew something was happening, something special. Just as I caught a stray baby lamb an ANGEL appeared. It told us to go to a stable where the saviour has been born. Taking the lamb as a gift we started on our way. When we got there I gave the lamb to Mary and I got to
