Oakville Hydro seeks new board members By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Oakville Hydro needs qualified local residents to fill two vacancies on its board of directors. Sought are applicants with experience in energy services, customer care and law. "The Oakville Hydro Board is committed to providing the best energy and conservation solutions," said Mayor Rob Burton, who also sits on the local board. "The recruitment process represents an opportunity for business leaders to step up and offer their expertise to help guide Oakville Hydro's long-term strategic planning and management." The vacancies were created by the departure of board members Atul Chandra and Sheryl Watson who, Hydro officials said, left so they could devote more time to their full-time jobs. The board described both Chandra and Watson as valuable members and said it regrets their loss.
