Tyke k 1 Rangers finalists f l in Tri-County playoffs Losing just once in 10 roundrobin games, the Oakville tyke 1 Rangers reached the finals of the Tri-County Minor Hockey League playoffs before settling for silver. Oakville, which went 8-1-1 in the qualifying round, dropped its TriCounty best-of-five final in four games to the Burlington Eagles. Two of the games went to overtime before Burlington wrapped up the series with a 3-0 win in Game 4. Peewee Titans go unscored on at tourney The Oakville peewee white Titans couldn't have been any better defensively at the recent Lincoln Minor Hockey March Break Tournament. Led by the stellar goaltending of Jason Clegg, the Titans didn't allow a single goal in four games, winning all of them to claim the championship. Oakville blanked Smithville 5-0, Lincoln 6-0 and New Tecumseth 6-0 in round-robin play, then edged Smithville 1-0 in the final on a second-period goal by Garrett Broad. Tyler Schelfhaut drew an assist on the only goal of the contest. Other members of the team are Thomas Newman, Sinead Kennedy, Kyle Cestnik, Liam O'Brien, Tyler Menezes, Jack Quinlan, Jeremy Eichorn, Mac McGauley, Vince Ruso, Jack Drysdale, Adam Ashley and Daniel Aziz. U13 Venom champs h in Hamilton l The Oakville Venom bantam under-13 girls basketball team tuned up for the upcoming provincials by winning the Blessed Sacrament tournament in Hamilton. Oakville won all of its games at the competition, including a 45-41 win over the London Ramblers in the final. Members of the team are Kiara Kelley, Megan Harton, Taishawna Bent, Stefanija Mrvajevic, Laura Ivaniukas, Marianna Vasquez, Emma Watkinson, Shayla Parkinson-Roberts, Amanda Coughlin, Caroline Szustak, Sydney Charvis and Ashley McDonald.
