However, to put on a neighbourhood festival, such as the upcoming, first-ever Oakville Family Ribfest this summer, it requires teams of volunteers. So when ribfest organizers, the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar, held a presentation on the progress it has made so far in organizing the event, it was no wonder it called out to community members to lend them a hand. It's a big job. The event, taking place June 22-24 at Sheridan College, will require individuals to help set up, clean up, provide support during the festival, take everything down when it is all over and, perhaps the biggest need for the festival, recycle. "I can tell you this is going to take a lot of work to separate all the different waste streams," said Rotarian Cliff Thompson, one of the organizers of the event, at the presentation last Thursday (April 4).
