This was evident Monday as KCC celebrated its 10th graduating class at Longo's Loft, 3455 Wyecroft Rd., in Oakville. Founded by chef and restaurateur Julia Hanna, KCC is a not-forprofit organization that educates children for free on developing healthy eating habits and basic cooking skills. Hanna's aim is to help children eat healthily by providing experiential learning programs. "The program gives young kids a basic idea of how to prepare some fresh food for themselves. We give them the tools, so they can take what they learned here, bring it home and apply it to themselves every day," said Hanna's son and chef, Matthew Granger. Participants attend three sessions, three hours each, over a threeweek period. There were approximately 11 graduates this week. The participants were taught the benefits of cooking and healthy eating habits.
