She was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Gilbert. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Suzanne, son in law Wayne Brown, grandchildren: Natalie (Derrick) Stevens, Christopher (Laura) Brown and Jenny (Christian) Brown and great grandchildren, Owen and Austin, whose love and laughter brought her great joy. She will be fondly remembered by sisters in law Maureen (Bob) Thomson and Pat (John) Daley and brother in law Ian MacIntosh as well as many nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonard, infant son, Brian and siblings: Lenny (Joan) Gilbert, Harry Gilbert, Alice (Fred) Hodge, Nancy (Fred) Dawe and Louise (George) Wishart. Eva enjoyed the company of the many friends she met through her years of living and travelling abroad. We will remember her fondness for bridge, flowers and cooking, her generous nature, her spirit of adventure and her love for her family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 23rd at Saint Thomas Anglican Church 8498 Highway 7, Musquodoboit Harbour, with the reception to follow at the Petpeswick Yacht Club. A funeral service will also take place in Ontario on Thursday, January 31st at 11am at the Church of the E p i p h a n y, 1 4 1 B r o n t e R o a d , Oakville, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
