The new Volunteer Halton app will focus on helping residents stay informed of current volunteer opportunities and community events. The app will strengthen Volunteer Halton's commitment to serving local youth in pursuing their 40 hours of community service and beyond. In addition to being able to search for volunteer opportunities, youth will also have the option of tracking their volunteer hours through the app and sharing their good deeds on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter. Through building an online community of volunteers, Volunteer Halton plans to engage more youth and foster an ongoing conversation around the importance of being civically engaged. The Volunteer Halton App, is funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and is a free tool available on Apple, Android and Blackberry app stores now. Download it today to search new ways to become involved in the Halton community.
