Church celebrates 10th mission to Big Trout Lake The Sanctuary Church is celebrating the 10th anniversary of sending a mission team to the First Nations people in Big Trout Lake in northern Ontario. The goal of the mission team is to help break the cycle of significant challenges facing the current and next generations of Aboriginal communities by providing a summer Bible camp for children from pre-school to Grade 8. "We have made tremendous friendships and the blessings are flowing both ways," state a press release. To fundraise for the trip, the Sanctuary Church is hosting its annual Live and Silent Auction event and free chilli dinner Saturday (April 27) at King's Christian Collegiate, 528 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W . The event runs from 6-9 p.m. and funds raised will go towards supplies for the children's camp, youth event, ladies spa night, feeding the community and team travel. With more than 50 vendors, the event promises to be a great opportunity to sell items and find deals, stated a news release. The Giant Community Garage Sale is also an opportunity for community groups, clubs, sports teams and schools to raise money for their group.
