The award recognizes Oakville projects that showcase excellence in urban design, heritage and green building. Residents can select their favourite by voting online at www.oakville.ca or in person at Town Hall until Oct. 30. There is a limit of one vote per person. "We've received many diverse submissions for the Livable by Design Awards. Submissions range from commercial and office buildings to community facilities and private residences," said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. A photo gallery of all submissions can be viewed on the Town's website or at Town Hall (1225 Trafalgar Rd.) just inside the main entrance. In addition to the Citizens' Choice Award, Livable by Design awards of Excellence and Distinction will also be handed out, which are judged by a Selection Committee. The Livable by Design Awards will be presented on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Queen Elizabeth Community and Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Rd.
