Meet the Symphony Sunday The Oakville Symphony Orchestra presents its Meet the Symphony young people's concert on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. The 45-minute concert, speci cally designed for young people and their families, will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1150 Monk's Passage. The performance is the perfect opportunity to introduce children to the sounds of an orchestra. The concert will include Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite, Radetzky's March of Strauss and Bizet's March of the Toreadors from Carmen and will also feature instrument demonstrations from the performers. Tickets cost $12 for adults and seniors and $6 for children and can be purchased by calling 905-815-2021. The Symphony is also hosting the rst of three free mini concerts in the lobby of the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Oct. 26. Meet a Percussionist is a 30-minute concert featuring Lorne Grossman, principal percussionist for the Oakville Symphony. The mini concerts are designed for people of all ages, especially those ages four to nine. Other concerts in the series include Meet a Cellist on Feb. 15, 2014 and Meet an Oboist on Mar. 29, 2014.
