The bass player for Oakville rock group Amber Damned is hosting four bands from across the GTA Saturday (Oct. 26) at Nino Panino Italian Restaurant, 438 Kerr St., unit 5 at 8 p.m. The all-ages show will feature performances by Look Here Junior, Shakin' Natives, Psamathe and Knho. Flynn, a self-professed "Oakville born-andbred music kid," has hosted two similar events in town in the past. "The first time out, we had 45-50 people and that grew to almost 70 the second time," he said. "We're hoping for even bigger than that this time around." Admission to the show costs $5, and will feature a Halloween costume contest. Chris Flynn ROCKgarden Party at OC4PA Musician Charlie Kert is bringing his ROCKgarden Party to the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts (OC4PA), 130 Navy St., Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. The educational, fun and interactive show is aimed at children from KindergartenGrade 6, and focuses on changing our environments. Kert, the founder of Little Fingers Music, plays Skater Dude, who along with friends Earth Angel and Jack in the Green, throw a garden party and play games in order to make it rain. Audience members, known as Garden Pixies and Groms during the show, are encouraged to suspend their disbelief, harness their imagination and participate by singing, dancing and drumming to help bring rain to the garden. A portion of the proceeds from the performance will be donated to Dreams Take Flight, an organization that sends seriously ill children to Disneyland. The performance is scheduled to last 45 minutes.
