Oakville Lawn Bowling Club to hold " Champs Day" T he O akville L aw n Bow ling Club is holding a "C ham ps D ay" on July 1, w ith proceeds going to T h e W ar A m ps C h ild A m p u tee (C H A M P) Program . T he fun event is part o f the O akville L aw n B ow ling C lu b 's aim to prom ote law n bow ling as an interesting and challenging sport for all ages. It w ill start at 1:30 pm at the C lu b 's location on N avy Street and end at approxim ately 5 pm. T he Club has been a longstanding supporter o f C H A M P, w hich p ro v id es C an ad ian C h ild A m putees w ith funding for artificial lim bs, co u n selling and regional Sem inars. "CH A M PS has been around since 1975 and has a huge im pact on lives o f am putee children, including m any in our ow n are, " said O akville L aw n B ow ling Club representative D avid Rock. "T his is a chance to have fun, say thanks and give back." Mr. R ock added that local residents are w el com e to stop by to w atch and m ake a contribution if they wish.
