This includes the construction of a large new culvert structure crossing the Sheldon Creek. Also, a new road, Great Lakes Boulevard, will be constructed which will re-align Burloak Drive easterly to a new intersection with Rebecca. In 2002, Metrus will reconstruct Rebecca Street from Mississaga Street to the new intersection with Great Lakes Boulevard, and, will also construct Great Lakes Boulevard north of Rebecca Street. Also, the section connecting Great Lakes Blvd. to Burloak Drive will also be completed. The section of Rebecca Street from Great Lakes Boulevard to Burloak Drive will be reconstructed in 2003. In order to reconstruct Rebecca Street and the large culvert structure crossing the Sheldon Creek, it will be necessary to close the road to through traffic for the period September 9, 2002 to December 6, 2002. During this time, only local truck traffic to the Petro Canada Refinery (via Burloak Drive) and emergency vehicles will be permitted on Rebecca Street within the closure limits. The detour route will be via Burloak Drive, Lakeshore Road and Bronte Road.
