Halton R egion' s Business Development Centre's new video Halton: A Community that Works shows why so many businesses have decided that Halton is an ideal place to locate and grow. Location, transportation links, quality of Ufe, educated workforce are certainly factors in the amazing growth in the number of new businesses in Halton, but they don't tell the whole story. The video notes that it's the support that is offered to businesses in Halton by the Halton Business Development Partnership that gives Halton its competitive edge. This partnership of Chambers of Commerce, local business development offices, and the Province of Ontario, work together to create an atmosphere that welcomes business. Several local business people are interviewed and quoted in the video to tell their personal stories. H A L T O N R EG IO N WEST RIVER WASTEWATER PUMPING STATION UPGRADES TOWN OF OAKVILLE PR-1970 NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT In order to provide sufficient wastewater pumping capacity, Halton Region is proceeding with a Class Environmental Assessment to identify a preferred solution for the upgrading and expansion of the existing West River Wastewater Pumping Station. This project has been planned under Schedule B o f the Class Environmental Assessment fo r Municipal Water and Wastewater Projects. The Phases 1 and 2 Report has been completed and by this Notice is being placed in the public record for review. The preferred solution involves the upgrading and expansion of the existing West River Wastewater Pumping Station. Subject to comments received as a result of this Notice and the receipt of necessary approvals, Halton Region intends to proceed with the construction of this project in the fall of 2001.
