Awad was born in Zagazig, Egypt on April 10, 1934. The fam ily settled in the suburbs of Cairo w here he grew up and eventually attained a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University o f Cairo. It didn't take long until the pull o f the Canadian way o f life affected him. He came to M ontreal in 1967 to visit fam ily and see th e Expo. Next thing he knew, it became his new home. He loved Canada dearly and quickly built a life in his newly adopted country. He was very fo rtu n ate th a t his best friend from childhood (Basil) and 4 o f his closest nieces and nephews also came (Vivian, Safwat, Nancy and Malak). They form ed a tightknit fam ily in this new country and thrived w ith th e ir new spouses. Awad's career to o k o ff and he got married and had a son, Michael. Over the years, his career took him from M ontreal to O ttaw a and then Toronto until he finally settled in Oakville in 1983. He grew roots in his new fam ily home (both literally and figuratively). He cherished his huge back yard and tall trees. Also th e peaceful quality o f life th a t Oakville affords. His only worries the frequent fires and broken windows caused by his pre-teen son. He accepted the opportunity fo r an early retirem ent from Bell Canada in 1993 and took to spending tim e w ith fam ily and his beloved PROBUS social club. M any fam ily milestones follow ed including th e welcom ing o f his daughter-in-law Dianna and th e birth of his granddaughter Yasmine. He adored them and cherished every m om ent they could spend together. A celebration of Awad's life w ill occur on Tuesday, June 6th at 11a.m. at K o p riv a Ta y lo r F u n e ra l Hom e, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W (one block east of Kerr 905-844-2600) in Oakville. Ze Alberto (Joe) Caramonete, beloved husband of Rosalia Caramonete (nee Ribau). Dear father o f Marcia da Costa (David) and Jennifer W alker (Rob). Cherished grandfather o f Noah, Olivia and Jonathan. Survived by his m other A rlete Caram onete and his sister Roslie Barreto (Henrique). Also survived by his extensive fam ily including his m other-in-law Irene Ribau, his brothers and sisters-inlaws: Norbinda and Ze Cardoso Ribau, M ario and Isabel Ribau, Joe and Annie Ribau, Sylvia and Joey Raposo, Andrea and Victor Vergas and all o f his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his fa th e r David Caramonete, his father-in-law M anuel Ribau, and his brother-in-law John Ribau. He will be sadly missed by his extended fam ily and all o f the many friends he had made over the years. Visitation w ill be held at Oakview Funeral Home on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. w ith his final resting place to be held in Portugal. S H E A R M A N , H elen Peacefully in Oakville Trafalgar Mem orial Hospital on May 29, 2017 Helen Shearman passed away in her 92nd year. She is survived by her husband o f sixty-six years, Rev. John Shearman, and tw o children, Rev. David Shearman o f Owen Sound, and Diane Shearman Syme of Oakville. Also Surviving are nine grandchildren and four great-grand children. A graduate of The Montreal General Hospital School o f Nursing in 1947 and o f McGill University School o f Graduate Nurses in 1950, she w orked w ith Victorian Order of Nurses for several years. She w ill be rem em bered by many friends in several communities across Ontario and Quebec w here she has lived since m arriage. A funeral service will be held in Glen Abbey United Church on Thursday, June 8th at 1 p.m. In lieu o f flowers gifts to The Victorian Order o f Nurses or The United Church o f Canada w ill be greatly appreciated. He passed away peacefully w ith fam ily by his side on May 18th after a courageous battle w ith a term inal illness at the age o f 61. He is survived by his beloved w ife Debbie Jackson along w ith children: Melissa (Chad), Michelle (Adam), Ned (Heather H.) and H eather (Jerry). He is loved and cherished by his grandchildren: Stephanie, Carson, Peyton, Colton, Cassidy and Adalynn. He w ill forever be in our hearts.
