Born in Sudbury to the late Edward and Helen, he grew up in the tow n of Hagar, Ontario w ith his 13 older siblings. He later settled in Oakville and was a dedicated Town of Oakville employee for over 20 years. " Big Pete" w ill always be remembered as a kind, gentle, man w ith a zest for life and a passion for the Great Outdoors. He w ill be deeply missed by his wife, Valerie, his tw o sons, Kevin (Jennifer) and Gregg (Danika), and his grandchildren Addie, Drayden, Jaxon M., Jaxon D., and Brielle. He is also leaving behind ten loving siblings and their families Jill (Al predeceased), Gail (Jack predeceased), Sue (Bill predeceased), Mike (Lynn), Sheila (Boris), Tim (Irene), Jerry (Louise), Ann (Dave), Debbie (Roy), and Ted (Diana) - but w ill be reunited w ith brothers Gus (Marilyn) and Jack (Carol), sister Patti (Norm), and his parents. The burial of ashes w ill be at Glen Oaks Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, on Saturday, August 5th at 10 am. She is survived by her nephews, Albert and David, and her niece, Angela, as well as her grand nephews, Devin and Brandyn and grand-niece, Paige. Lois' late husband, Wesley Miller, predeceased her in 2003, and was a form er Fire Chief o f the Town of Oakville. Together they traveled, socialized and enjoyed summers at home by their pool. In her last few years, Lois was well taken care of by the staff at Sunrise of Oakville senior living residence, as well as through and by Amy Sheppard and Bill Perras, both of whom were great sources of com fort fo r her.
