(nee Richard) A.K.A Babs January 15, 1936 - July 4, 2018 It is with broken hearts that the family of Mar ie Hedman announce her peaceful passing on the morning of July 4, 2018. She follows her late husband of over 55 years, Donald Hedman, who passed away in January 2015. Marie was a pi l lar of love, strength, compassion and faith for her family. She was a selfless and devoted wife, mother, Memere and Grand Memere. She nurtured al l of her c h i l d r e n w i t h l o v i n g c a r e a n d devotion. She filled our homes, hearts and lives with warmth and laughter. S h e g a v e o f h e r s e l f w i t h o u t reservation, ensuring her family was always content and well cared for. Marie had a wonderful beginning to her life. Born in Delmas, Saskatchewan in January 1936 to Archie and Antoinette Richard, she would be their final child, the 9th born. Mom always talked about her beautiful home life. It was evident in all her wonderful stories that she was very much loved and cherished by her family. After marrying Donald Hedman, Marie gladly took on the role of becoming a Military wife. Together her and Don had 4 children. Renee McCarthy (Dan), Lorraine Karas (Terry), Ellen Rodgers (Terry) and Nels Hedman (Christine). After mom felt that we were becoming a little less demanding with respect to tugging on her apron strings, she decided it was time to further her own education. She attended Loyalist College and earned her R.N.A., graduating with honours and proudly making the "Deans list". She enjoyed 2 careers, having worked both in the Emergency department at Trenton Hospital, and at Canadian General Electric as the afternoon shift Occupational Health Nurse. When her last job ended, Mom and Dad decided that it was time to enjoy life to the fullest. They enjoyed 15 years of Florida winters, with many vacations between. They traveled Canada from coast to coast, visited Alaska, Australia and many other Caribbean islands. They were the proud grandparents of Samantha McCarthy, Brianna McCarthy, Joshua Keary, Michael Karas, Dex Karas, Kyle Bird, Cory Rodgers, Cole Rodgers, Jillian King and Andrew King. They were also the proud great-grandparents of Lydia Keary, Luke Keary, Bentley Bird, Westley Bird and Brielle Karas. Marie is predeceased by her loving husband Don, her parents, her grandson Dex, many siblings and various other relatives and friends. We're sure that Marie slid in sideways to heaven yelling out excitedly "Wow, what a ride!" Our sweet Marie, how blessed were we to have the absolute honour of calling you Mom. You will be forever missed, and forever loved. Until we meet again...xoxo MARTIN-RICHARDSON, Patricia Lynn September 29, 1966 - June 26, 2018 It is with great sadness we announce the pass ing of Patr ic ia Martin- Richardson.
